    ·      Provides a fixed point at which acceptance for the project products is confirmed. Termination of all the workers.

    ·      Includes the hand-over of the project & follow-on actions

    ·      Assesses the effectiveness of the project
  • Post Mortem Meeting
    ·      Done by PM every project closure & evaluation. Evaluate what didn’t/went well. Used to understand lessons learned for future improvements of other projects.
  • Project Recycling
    ·      Output diffusion, may lead to policy/program & project improvements
    ·      Decision to expand, duplicate, abort or institutionalize project within the organization permanently
    ·      Identification of linkages/spillover investments
    ·      Preparation of follow up investment proposals
  • Project Evaluation
    ·      Provides the team the opportunity to look back & share their thoughts on how the project went. Give their suggestion & recommendation if the project is repeated.
  • Summative Evaluation
    ·      A document that post implementation review of project. Comparing two projects against the objectives and if it followed the mgmt. process outlines in the planning phase.
  • Components of Project Closure:
    • Administrative Closure
    • Post Implementation Meeting
    • Project Report
    • Celebration!
  • Summative Evaluation must be completed before the project formally closes.
