• E-Z isomerism is a type of stereoisomerism.
• For E-Z isomerism to occur, you need a carbon double bond to prevent rotation about the double bond.
• In E-Z isomerism, the higher the atomic number, the higher the priority.
• If the top two priorities are on the same side of the double bond, it is the Z isomer.
• If the top two priorities are on opposite sides of the double bond, it is the E isomer.
