Wagenaar (1986) created a diary entry of 2,400 events over 6 years. He tested himself on recall of events and found that he had excellent recall, suggesting the capacity of the LTM is very large.

☹ Diary Studies are a type of case study and therefore are not representative of the general population, as it small sample - often only 1 person. This means we cannot generalise the findings to the larger population.

☹ There could be an element of bias as people are testing themselves. They could show social desirability as the person tries to make themselves look good. This would affect the validity of the study as they are not being truthful.
