Kidneys are located in the lower abdomen. they receive blood via renal arteries and veins which pass thru the hilus along with nerve supply.
RENAL CORTEX - dark outer region that consists of blood supply
RENAL MEDULLA - light inner region that consist of renal pyramids
RENAL PELVIS - hollow urine chamber that empties into the ureter
