Positive and Negative Feedback

• Positive Feedback - a mechanism that increases change and amplifies the reaction to make it happen more quickly
• Negative Feedback - product of a reaction leads to a decrease in the reaction
• Homeostasis - the process of self regulation making an organism maintain stability
• Homeostasis allows an organism to:

  • Keep functions from malfunctioning
  • maintain stability while in a different environment
• Without Homeostasis, your functions would malfunction. Luckily, homeostasis happens constantly and everywhere because of stimulus
• Metabolism is NOT Homeostasis
• Homeostasis needs feedback to function properly
