Synaptic transmission

• 1. Action potentials arrive at synpatic knob
• 2. Ca2+ channels open so that Ca2+ diffuse quickly into synpatic knob
• 3. Synaptic vesisicles containing neurotransmitters move towards pre synaptic membrane
• 4. Synaptic vesicles fuse with the pre-synpatic membrane and release neurotransmitter into synaptic cleft
• 5. Neurotransmitter diffuses to post synaptic membrane
