Refraction is the bending or change in direction when light travels from one medium to another at an angle
what is refraction?
why does light bend?
because it changes speed in different mediums
what is the speed of light in a vacumn?
3.00 x 10^8 m/s
RULES FOR REFRACTION
The incident ray, refracted ray and the normal all lie on the same plane. The incident ray and the refracted ray are on opposite sides of the line that separates the two media.
Light bends towards the normal when the speed of light in the first medium is faster than the speed of light in the second and the light bends away when the second medium is faster.
