• Meanders are curves in a stream because of weathering and deposition
• Flood prevention tools are; dams and levys
• Floods occur over large areas of land with a lot of rainfall
• Porosity-the amount of pore spaces in rock or soil
• permeability- (infiltration rate) how easily water flows through the soil
• Zone of saturation- the area where water fills all of the pore spaces in sediment/ rock
• Water table- the upper limit of the zone of saturation
• Zone of aeration- the area above the water table where the soil is not saturated
• Carbon dioxide causes rain to become acidic
• Caves form in the zone of saturation and stalactites and stalagmites form in the zone of aeration.
