Genetic Engineering

• Genetic Engineering is the process where a gene is transferred from one cell to another.
• There are 5 steps to genetic engineering:

  1 - The required gene is identified.

  2 - The required gene is extracted through the use of an Enzyme.

  3 - A plasmid is extracted from a bacterial cell.

  4 - The plasmid is cut open using an Enzyme.

  5 - The required gene is then inserted into the plasmid using an Enzyme.
