The inspiration for Tenochtitlan was the ancient city of Teotihuacan in the North-east of the basin of mexico

The sacred Precinct was an enormous closure with walls three metres high. It was 500 metres on each side and contained 70 buildings. Offices, schools, platforms with heads, a ball court, temples, and pyramids.
There were a lot of temples and shrines dedicated to their gods along with human sacrifices.
