• What are trail titrations used for?

  to obtain a rough estimation of the titre
• Explain the effect of washing out a pipette with water instead of your previous solution on the titre:

  • it would decrease
  • the solution would be less concentrated / more dilute
• Suggest a reason why you would obtain a smaller titre?

  the pipette is rinsed with water before filling it with the solution
• To work out the concentration of an element in a compound:
