  • Treatments
    Seeing a GP:
    • Infections can be treated with antibiotics
    • Ear wax build up can be treated with ear drops or being remove.
    Hearing Aids or Implants:
    • Permanent hearing loss: a specialist may recommend hearing aids. These make sounds clearer and louder.
    • Hearing Implants are placed deep inside your ear or attached to the skull.
  • Living with Hearing loss
    • reduce background noise/ move to a quiet area when talking to others.
    • face people when speaking so you can read their mouth, facial expressions and gestures.
    • ask people to repeat themselves, speak more slowly or write things down if needed.
    • wear ear protection when exposed to loud noises.
