  • What is an advantage and disadvantage of stratified sampling?

    Advantage: Gives a good comparison of different areas eq. upper, middle and lower.
    Disadvantage: Not suitable for something like a questionnaire.
  • What is an advantage and disadvantage of systematic sampling?

    Advantage: Easier to do than random sampling
    Disadvantage: Can be time consuming
  • What is an advantage and disadvantage of random sampling?
    Advantage: Not bias - each site has an equal chance of being picked.
    Disadvantage: Site can get clustered together meaning data isn't representative.
  • What hazard does unfamiliar areas have?
    Getting lost in new environments
  • What hazards does weather have?
    Wet weather is dangerous due to slippery groynes etc.
    Hot weather also poses the risk of dehydration
  • What hazard does uneven ground have?
    Danger of falling overdue to uneven footpaths

    Risk of powerful water and risk of slipping over

    Random sampling
    Systematic sampling
    Stratified sampling
  • What does reliable conclusions mean?
    When there is enough data collected in an accurate way so we can trust the results

    Quantitative data - Statistical/ numbers
    Qualitative data - Descriptive / words
  • What does accurate conclusions mean?
    Data collected in the correct way that makes what we find to be trustworthy

    Primary data - Collected yourself
    Secondary data - Collected by others
