Khrushchev arms Castro

• After the Bay of Pigs invasion, Soviet forces flooded into Cuba and the USSR started supplying Cuba with arms.
• The Americans were worried that the USSR would put nuclear weapons on Cuba. Kennedy's Intelligence Department believed the USSR wouldn't do this. In September, Kennedy warned the USSR that he would prevent Cuba from receiving nuclear missiles. The USSR told the USA that they had no intention of doing this.
