• The prime minister promised there would be homes fit for heroes.
• There were huge problems of overcrowding in Scottish homes.
• There were also problems with the conditions of basic sanitation (toilets).
• The government passed a couple of laws to help improve housing.
• These laws had a limited impact and many people were angry with the government that more wasn't done.
