  -the enzyme and substrate should be heated separately first to achieve the required temperature before they are added together

  pH buffer solution
• What should be done in the control experiment?

  -use the same enzyme

  -boil and cool it: this denatures the enzyme and shows that changes to the substrate are due to the enzyme

  -keep all other conditions the same
