The slaves were loaded onto the ships and began a 6-12 week voyage across the Atlantic Ocean to the Caribbean, a journey known as the middle passage.
This journey began in the Caribbean and ended at a European port.
Bridgetown and Kingston were two Caribbean ports heavily involved in the slave trade.
The items taken from the Caribbean to Europe include sugar,rum and molasses, with cotton being taken from America back to Europe.
