Vertebrates

• There are 5 groups of vertebrates.
• The five classes of animals are fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals
• Mammals

  They are WARM blooded.

  They give birth to their young.

  They are covered in hair and fur.

  They have sweat glands - pores.
• Amphibians (dual life)

  Cold blooded.

  Live on land but need water to breed.

  They have moist skin.

  Lays eggs outside the body.

  -Salamander

  -Newts
• Birds

  Warm blooded

  Lay eggs.

  Covered in feathers.


  Examples-

  Penguins( Only birds who cant fly.)
• Reptiles

  Cold blooded.

  Covered in tough dry scaly skin.

  Lay eggs.

  • Snake
  • Lizard
  • Turtle
• Fish

  Cold blooded.

  Covered in scales.

  Lay eggs.

  • Guppies(give birth to their young.)
