cloning

• embryo transplant- sperm cells are taken from male, egg cells are taken from female. the sperm then artificially fertilises the egg cell, the embryo that is developed split many times before any cells become specialised. these sperm embryos are implanted into lots of other cows where they will be genetically identical
• adult cell cloning is taking an unfertilised egg cell and removing its nucleus, the nucleus is removed from adult body cell and inserted into empty egg cell. egg cell is stimulated by electric shock-making it divide. this creates clone
• cloning can reduce gene pool. but can lead to greater understanding of the development of the embryo and age related disorders.
• cloning can also preserve endangered species
