• we need to maintain fish levels so the fish can continue to breed- this is called sustainable food production
• we conserve fish stocks by fishing quotas- limits the number of fishes that can be caught. and net size- limit of mesh size of fish net- reduces number of unwanted fish
• livestock can be kept under temperature controlled environment so they have more energy to grow so more food can be grown instead of moving around
• factory farmed- raising in small pens
• factory farmed in cages (fish)
• animals can be fed high protein foods to increase growth
• some factory farming methods cause disease to spread
