  • historian - a person who studies the past, especially in order to explain and interpret it
  • primary source - a source that was created at the time the event occurred, or shortly after
  • secondary source - a source that is written by someone who is not the original source
  • bias - a tendency to interpret information in a way that is favorable to one's own point of view
  • propaganda - the use of persuasive methods to influence public opinion and attitudes
  • archive - a collection of documents, photographs, and other materials that are preserved for future use

  • cross checking - checking the accuracy of the data by comparing it with other sources of information
