Independent, dependent and control variables

• Independent variable - the factor that is manipulated by the researcher
• Dependent variable - the outcome or response to be measured as a result of changes made to an independent variable
• Control variable - any factors which may influence the results of an experiment are controlled so they do not affect the findings.
• Dependent variable - the outcome or response to be measured as a result of changes made to the independent variable
• Control variable - any other factors which may affect the results but are kept constant throughout an experiment
