What is normative ethics?
theories on principles of right and wrong
What does normative mean?
A standard or rule
What is deontological ethics?
Concerned with the moral law or duty and whether a law or rule is good or bad
What does teleological mean?
Shows if an action is right or wrong depending upon its end goal
What is character based?
Goodness is not in the act or the outcome but in the person
What is absolutism?
The view that moral laws have a complete and universal authority that derives from God or an internal power
What is natural moral law?
Rules based on the Bible which are the standard by which we should live
What is situation ethics?
The goal of every ethical situation should be to bring about agape love
What is virtue ethics?
A character based theory. All ethical situations are about helping a person to develop their own personal virtues
