    • non- communicable disease are those that cannot be spread person to person, such as cancer, heart disease and diabetes
    • human cost- lower quality of life, shorter life span
    • financial cost- on the NHS, for treatment and research longterm
    • risk factors- smoking, obesity, alcohol, stress, lack of exercise, family history
    • cancer is caused by the uncontrolled cell growth and division of abnormal cells
    • benign is where the tumour is contained within the body and does not spread
    • malignant is where the tumour is cancerous and can spread to other parts of the body
    • risk factors of cancer include: smoking, obesity, UV exposure, family history
