What is the definition for family?
the people who raise you and feel connected to all the people related to you and each other through blood adoption or marriage. This is often know as kinship
Why is family important?
A very important social institution
Found in some form in all societies
plays a vital role in the socialisation of children
What is a household?
A person who is living on their own or a group of people who share the same living accommodation. They don’t have to be related.
What is the perfect household in 1950?
Mother - housewife
Father - brings income
Son - takes on fathers responsibilities
Daughter - married off
