  • Good or Just Law - Protects and Promotes the true freedom of a community and it's individual members.
  • Characteristics of Just law:
    *A just law is an ordinance of reason - A good law must be reasonable
    *A just law must be decreed by competent authority - Only legitimate authority has the power to create and implement laws.
    *A just law is properly promulgated - Must be clearly communicated to all people concerned.
    *A just law ought to be for the sake of the common good.
  • Different Laws:
    -Natural Law
    -Divine Law
    -Church Laws
    -Civil Laws
  • Natural Law - The universal law grounded on our human nature.
  • Divine Law - Laws that are revealed by God in the bible and the scriptures.
  • Church Laws - Expressions of Christ's laws of love in the particular christian living.
  • Civil Laws - Laws enacted by the government, which governs the society.
  • Civil Laws - Are human-made decrees that are binding to all citizens of a nation.
