• Farmers can artificially alter their farms to make plant growth faster by:

  • Using a Greenhouse and providing artificial light
  • Using paraffin heater or pump CO2
  • Fertilisers and pesticides
• Farmers often use greenhouses to create conditions for high rate of photosynthesis, trapping the sun's heat and providing artificial light so that photosynthesis can continue all through the day and night.
• Farmers may also use fertilizers to ensure that the plants have enough essential minerals and pesticides to kill any unwanted bugs.

• Benefits of a greenhouse means that

  • it can trap sun’s heat, increasing the temperature
  • keep pests and pathogens out
  • allow farmer to not rely on environmental factors
• Disadvantages of greenhouse is that; it is so expensive so you have to produce more yield of plant to sell and profit to maintain greenhouse
• artificial light is beneficial as it can allow photosynthesis to occur day and night
• Paraffin heater is efficient as it releases heat and CO2 as it burns
