• the sofware that controls the computer and brings the computer to life is called operating system(OS) or system sofware.
• The OS manages all of the software and hardware of the computer system
• The most common OS are Microsoft Windows for PCs, Apple OS for macintosh (Mac computer, and linux)
• The operating system is the set of programs that do all of the things needed to make a computer work.
• The interface or (in full) the human-computer interface(HCI) is the program that controls what the users see on the screen.
• Which interface is chosen depends on the jobs the computer has to do and the type of user and their abilities.
• Graphical user interphaces are sometimes called WIMPs (windows, incons, mouse, pointer).
• The CLI (command line interface) is more difficult to use because the user must know all the command and the user must not make any typing errors.
