• flexibility and compromise : if a consistent minority are be seen as inflexible , rigid and dogmatic , they will be unlikely to change the maj view | if they appear flexible and compromising , they are likely to be seen as more moderate and reasonable thus stand a better chance at changing the maj view
• Identification : people tend to identify with people they see similar to themselves. if the maj identifies with the minority , then they are more likely to take the minority views seriously and change their own views in line with those if the min
