  •
    ACTION
Recurring ‘rooster’ and ‘grooming’ gestures from LRR.
Boa is used to loop around the dancers creating an alternative point of contact.
Very gestural content in the upper body. Actions are quite childlike and fun at times.
Fast and intricate footwork, exploring turn out and ranges of flexion.
  •
    SPACE
The dancers mostly use centre stage.
Their pathways interlink and cross through each other.
There is a fluent use of levels by both dancers and often initiated by the boa.
  •
    DYNAMIC
Fluent but not continuous. The pauses in the lyrics and music are usually matched by pauses in the dance.
Some accented movements give contrast to the accompaniment.
  •
    DEVICES/ RELATIONSHIPS
Repetition of the motif (smooth looping hands gesture, showing off muscles and pointing at the female dancer) that represents the chorus of the song.
Sense of question and answer in the movement with one responding to another rather than reacting.
The man repeats one of the woman’s motifs as a mockery of her- wiggling back and backside into the boa- humorous tone!
  •
    FORMATIONS
The pair circle each other in the centre stage throughout the section.
The duet perform in a variety of facings as well as traditional partner ballroom hold- links to Social Dance and ‘NFA’
  •
    COSTUME
Both Male and female dancers return to the original costumes.
There is the addition of a feather boa  - which could suggest the social standing of the female character.
  •
    LIGHTING
The stage lightens to natural coloured wash.
The edges of the stage are dimmer and shadows of the dancers are created in the centre.
  •
