Research to Minority Influence-Moscovici et al

• Groups of 6 women( 2 confederates and 4 participants). The groups were all shown the same 36 slides one by one and had to say what the color was, they varied in intensity but they were all blue.

  Condition 1:Two confederates said green thought(Consistency)

  Condition 2:Two confederates said green 24 times and blue 12 times(Inconsistent)

  Condition 3:All confederates said blue thought
• Condition 1: 8.42% conformity overall with 32% saying green at least once.
• Condition 2:1.25% conformity overall and control group:0.25% said green at any point
• Conclusion: Consistency is important for a minority to be influential over a majority
• One positive is that there are high levels of control. This means that the experimenter can get a more accurate result and find the aim of the experiment better.
• Another positive is that they check the colorblindness. They can check for 2 things at once which means they can check for colorblindness and color vision.
• It could say that it lack ecological validity. This is because you are not testing the behaviour in a natural environment because it is artificial.and you wouldn't normally recall colours normally.
