The Fundamental Law

• the fundamental law reaffirmed autocracy and strengthened the Tsar's rule by stating that he had the right to rule independently when the Duma was not in session

  and that he could dissolve the Duma whenever he saw fit
• The Fundamental Law was passed in April 1906
• The fundamental law made it so that he had complete control over the navy and military

  he was able to crush any potential revolutions

  but he was also responsible for any victories and losses
• The fundamental law caused the public to have a complete lack of trust in the Tsar, since he went back on what was promised with the October Manifesto and fired Witte, the person who managed to resolve many of the issues that the Tsar had put himself in
• The Fundamental Law was one of the biggest causes of the february 1917 revolution
