seminiferous tubules
- tiny coiled tubes in the testes where sperm are produced
rete testis
- connects the Seminiferous Tubules to the Efferent Ducts
efferent ducts
- connects the Rete Testis to the initial section of the Epididymis
Epididymis
- where maturation of sperm happens, where most sperm are stored
vas deferens
- also called “ductus deferens” transports sperm cells from the Epididymis to the Ejaculatory Duct
seminal vesicle
- produces fluid rich in sugar that nourishes sperm and helps it move
ejaculatory duct
- tube that is formed by the union of the ends at Vas Deferens and Seminal Vesicle
Prostate Gland
- secretes the sperm alkaline fluid that neutralizes the acids in the female reproductive system
bulbourethral Gland
- “Cowpers Gland” produces alkaline fluid that neutralizes traces of acids in the male urethra secretes “semen”
Urethra

Ejaculation
- forceful expulsion of the sperm out pf the male’s body
Head
- made up of a nucleus covered by a cap called “acrosomes”, stores enzyme that is needed to penetrate the egg cell
Mid Piece
- contains the mitochondria, supplies the energy needed by the sperm through the female reproductive system
Tail
- a powerful flagellum that whips back and forth, allows the sperm to move
