Photosynthesis is the chemical reaction that plants perform in order to make their own food (energy source - glucose)
In order to photosynthesise, a plant needs
Water
Carbon dioxide
Sun light (energy)
The products of photosynthesis are glucose and oxygen whereas the reactants are water and carbon dioxide
The word equation for photosynthesis is
Water + CarbonDioxide → Glucose + Oxygen
The symbol equation for photosynthesis is
6H2O + 6CO2 → C6H12O6 + 6O2
Photosynthesis can also be affected by the size of the plant's leaves (because this affects how many chloroplasts it has). It can also be affected by the colour of light it is exposed to
Independent Variable - We are going to choose distance and we are going to change it by moving the pondweed away from the LED light source
Dependent Variable - We are going to count the number bubbles
Control Variable - Things that are going to be kept the same are light source, type/size of plant, concentration/volume of sodium hydrogencarbonate solution and room temperature
