Auxins

• Use as selective weed killer and part of rooting powder
• Selective weed killer:

  • auxins only affect Broad-leaved plants
  • this disrupts normal growth pattern which kills them but leaves plants and grass untouched
• Growing from cuttings with rooting powder:

  1. Adding rooting powder which contains auxins will allow the cutting to produce roots and grow as new plants
  2. this allows growers to produce clones of a really good plant quickly
