Limiting Factors of Photosynthesis

Cards (3)

  • As the light intensity increases, the number of roses produced increases up to level 4 This is because the only thing limiting the rate is the amount of light. After this point the number of plants stays the same This is because the rate is now limited by a lack of carbon dioxide or temperature
  • As the carbon dioxide level increases as the number of roses increases up to 0.12% of carbon dioxide. After this point the number of plants stays the same as carbon dioxide is no longer a limiting factor. This is because the rate is now limited by temperature or light intensity
  • As the temperature increases, the number of roses increases . The optimum temperature is between 30 and 50 degrees celsius. However, after 40 degrees celsius the number of roses decrease. This is because the high temperature has denatured the enzymes.
