• Archimedes principle: an object in a fluid will experience upthrust equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the object
• change in momentum = resultant force x time
• change in momentum = impulse
• in a closed system, initial momentum = final momentum
• elastic collision = KE is conserved; KE may increase if changed from a stored/potential energy form
• momentum = mass x velocity
