Describe the functioning of a transformer
An alternatingcurrent flows through the primary coil (which is basically a solenoid) - The alternatingcurrent induces an alternating magnetic field - The alternating magnetic field in the iron core induce an alternating potential difference in the secondary coil - If the secondary coil is part of a completecircuit , an alternatingcurrent flows through it
When the potential difference is increased , the current is decreased and vice verse
Voltage (primary) / Voltage (secondary) = number of turns (primary) / number of turns (secondary)
voltage (secondary) x current (secondary) = voltage (primary) x current (primary)
