  Force 1 x distance 1 = Force 2 x distance 2
• Why do we use levers and gears?

  They transmit the rotational effects of forces . They magnify either the size of the applied force or the distance the force moves over
• To calculate distance , we have to use a perpendicular distance
• In levers and gears, When the applied force moves further than the transmitted force, the force is increased
• In levers and gears, When the applied force is bigger than the transmitted force, the distance is increased
