    w/in the body or structure; inner interior

    the space inferior to the diaphragm, houses stomach, small intestines, most of large intestines, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, adrenal glands, and ureters

    signs of life, respirations, pulse, temp, BP

    a mass of like cells that have a simular combined function

    a structure made up of several groups of tissue that preforms a specific function

    thin soft pliable layer of tissue that lines cavities and envelopes and seperates organs

    a group of organs working to preform complex body functions
  • what is mucus?

    a sticky fluid secreted by glands of the mucus membrane, it is a protective lubricant coating

    partially penetrable, it allows some molecules in a solution to pass through but not others, it permits passage up molecules up to a certain size

    the movement of molecules of gases, solids, or liquids through a semipermeable membrane from a higher to a lower concentration
