• Caesar- extremely violent characteristics from the influence of drugs and previous life experience of domestic abuse as a child
• We are different based on how we are raised which can affect how people view behaviour of those in East Harlem - E.g: Bourgois learns that Caesar and Primo had raped young girls as it was considered normal and "training" so they could service men, also blamed young girl saying they were asking for it (rape culture), uncomfortable for Bourgois due to his culture (ethnocentrism), hard for him to consider himself as being 'same' as others
