  • Special Learner Permit/Probationary License Restrictions include no driving after 11:01 p.m. and before 5:00 a.m.
  • A supervising driver who is at least 21 years of age and possesses a valid New Jersey driver's license with a minimum of three years driving experience is required when driving with a Special Learner Permit/Probationary License.
  • Only one additional passenger is allowed unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • The use of cell phones, hand held video games, or any other hands-free interactive, wireless communication device is prohibited.

    Fines and changes
    Address change must be reported within 1 week after moving.
    Name change must be reported to the MVC within 2 weeks.
    A motorist who moves to NJ with an out of state licenses must apply for a NJ license within 60 days.
    Altering a drivers license may result in: a fine up to $1000, loss of driving privileges, and/or imprisonment.
