Diffusion- passive movement of molecules down a concentration gradient from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration
osmos - passive movement of water molecules down a concentration gradient from a region of higher water concentration to a region of lower water concentration ( water movement by osmosis is always through a selectively permeable membrane)
active transport- movement of molecules from a low concentration to a high concentration through a membrane, active transportation requires energy for membrane proteins to move molecules or ions against the concentration gradient
normal red blood cell- high water concentration (water passes in from night water conentration to lower water concentration and the cell burst)
