• Subject in art is any person, animal, thing, or issue that is described or presented in a work.
• Subject in visual design is different from the theme.
• Realistic, representational, or objective art is artwork with subjects that are recognizable.
• Nonrepresentational or nonobject art is artwork with subjects that are not recognizable.
• Realism in art is when the subject is done the way it actually looks.
• Distortion in art is when the artist uses his or her imagination and alters the subjects according to his or her desire.
• Abstract in art is when the artist breaks apart a subject and rearranges it in a different manner.
• Non-objectivism in art is when there is no subject at all, just interplay of pure elements like line, shape, or color, and so on.
