  • Terminology:
    Auto Renewal Grace Period (ARGP) - A 45 day period following the expiration of a domain name.
  • Terminology:
    Add Grace Period (AGP) - The first 5 days after registration. Domain names deleted during this period become available for re-registration .
  • Terminology:
    Revival Grace Period (RGP) - The first 10 days after the expiration period of a domain. The domain can be reactivated in the customer's account for the normal renewal fee.
  • Terminology:
    Monetization Grace Period (MGP) - This is the 11th - 30th day after the expiration date. The customer must agree to a $/£ 90 (excl local tax) restore + renewal fee before Agent restores via HLT and manually reconnects services.
  • Terminology:
    Monetization Period (MP) 31 - 40 day after expiration - Domain is now managed by Domcollect to assess its monetisation potential. We will have to ask Domcollect for the domain back. The customer must agree to a $/£ 90 (excl local tax) restore + renewal fee. No guarantee that it will be returned by Domcollect.
  • Terminology:
    Kill or Keep Period (KKP) 41 - 45 day after expiration - Domcollect decides whether to keep the domain or let it enter the Redemption Grace Period. If kept, the domain is monetized or offered publicly for sale as a Premium Domain.
  • Terminology:
    Redemption Grace Period (RGP) 46 - 75 day after expiration - This a safety precaution to help prevent people from losing their domains to domain grabbers. Domain is restorable for a restore fee of $/£ 90 (excl local tax) + standard renewal fee.
  • Terminology:
    Pending Delete Period - Domain names under this status are no longer restorable and will be released to the public 5 days after the Redemption Grace Period. Once deleted, it’s available to the public for registration for the normal fee. Important to note: the delete process is administered by the Registry, not IONOS.
  • Understanding Monetization:
    • Do not use "Monetization" in referring to a Domain that is within the 45 day Grace Period mandated by ICANN for GTLDs and NTLDs after a Domain has expired. This is an internal term and should not be disclosed to customers.
    • Use "Domain Auto Renewal Grace Period" instead of Monetization Period.
  • Domain Under Monetization:
    • Domain still restorable; Customer must agree to restore fee of $/£ 90 (excl local tax) + standard renewal fee
    • Once a customer agrees to fees, the agent cant restore it by clicking the restore button.
  • Domain with DomCollect:
    • We will have to ask Domcollect for the domain back and the agent can create a task to DAT.
    • Customer must agree to a $/£ 90 (excl local tax) restore + renewal fee and must have an active contract before forwarding a task. No assurance it will be restored back to the customer's account.
  • Domain Under Redemption Period:
    • Domain is still restorable, customer must agree to restore the fee of $/£ 90 (excl local tax) + standard renewal fee
    • Once customer agrees to fees, agent cant restore it by clicking restore button.
  • .uk Domain Timeline:
    Registration Period -> Expired -> Restorable for 90 Days -> 5 Days Pending Delete
  • .uk Domain Timeline:
    • Start a transfer into an Active contract via the customer’s control panel. 
    • A normal renewal charge will be taken from the payment method on the account.
    • Access to Reg-C Email
    • The customer must have access to the Reg C email address in order to approve the incoming transfer request. The transfer process will timeout if not approved. If they no longer have access to this, ask them to provide an alternative email address and ask DAT via UK Domain & Process Support Chatroom.
