• stop and question - the person is entriely free to refuse to answer unless arrested
• stop and account - can ask someone to stop and account due to behaviour - all stops must be recorded and copy give to person stopped
• stop and search - search person and veichle
• reasonable grounds - come from intelligence - not required for a terror suspect
• suspecting - comes from intelligence
• prohibited articles - includes weapons and firearms
• suspect must be told - why, officer name and badge number - explanation of grounds
• search in public - remove coat, gloves and hat only
• record of search - made asap, date and time copy given to suspect
• act - s60 criminal justice and public order act 1994
• s24 PACE - police must have reasonable suspicion to arrest
