Brainstorming is a group activity technique by which efforts are made to find conclusion for a specific problem by gathering a list of ideas spontaneously contributed by its members.
Four types of brainstorming: Cubing, Looping, Mapping, Clustering
Cubing
In this brainstorming strategy, a topic or idea is examined in six (6) different viewpoints.
Looping
This involves writing without stopping Also referred to as FREE WRITING
Mapping
Generating individual ideas and illustrating their connectedness.
Clustering
It is used to generate a great number of ideas.
A graphic organizer is a visual frame used to represent knowledge and understanding of a subject matter by arranging important aspects of a concept or topic into a logical pattern using labels.
A Venn diagram consists of two (or sometimes as many as five) overlapping circle. It is used to help students compare and contrast two characters, settings, events, or other literary elements.
A cause and effect map is used to show relationships of all factors (causes) that lead to the given situation (effect). It is usually preceded by cause and effect analysis.
One of the organizers to promote critical thinking, a problem&solutionmap is applied in which problems and solutions for a problem are discussed.
The compare and contrast matrix is used as a means of comparing different historical events, geographical regions, cultural and traditional differences or political systems.
Sequential Maps - This type helps graphically represent the order of steps in a process, a timeline of events, etc
Cyclical Diagrams - This graphic organizer shows how items are related to one another in a repeating cycle.
Hierarchical Maps organize concepts from more general to more specific ones.
TOPIC OUTLINE - This is an outline that uses parallel phrases for the heading all throughout.
SENTENCE OUTLINE - It is a form of an outline that uses full sentences for its format
OUTLINE - A general plan of what a person intends to write. This classifies each information and its connection to the topic or subject
NUMBERLETTERFORMAT - Combination of numbers and letters in the structure of the outline
DECIMAL OUTLINE FORMAT - This uses solely numbers in place of the number-letter structure
