  • pulmonary circuit: blood vessels that carry blood to and from the lungs
  • systemic circuit: the blood vessels that carry blood to and from all body tissues
  • right and left atrium receive blood returning from systemic and pulmonary circuits
  • right and left ventricle pump blood through the circuits
  • Left side of heart is systemic circuit pump and the right side is the pulmonary circuit pump
    • Pulmonary circuit is a low pressure circulation and is served by the right side.
