Euthanasia

• Active Euthanasia - the deliberate act of ending a patients life with the intention of protecting them from further suffering
• Passive Euthanasia - not doing anything to stop the death of a patient (do not resuscitate orders etc)
• Voluntary Euthanasia - the person chooses to die but requires medical assistance
• Involuntary Euthanasia - when someone else decides that it is better for the patient to die, without their consent
