During the '20s in the US, mass production was developed in the car industry (with conveyor belts and one person doing the same job all day)
Many other types of industry in the US copied the car industry
Mass production was super-efficient and cost effective
Many companies in GB did not adopt these new methods very quickly, and therefore got left behind
